Call for Nominations – CREW DC 2027 Board of Directors

Do you know a fellow CREW DC member who would be a great addition to our Board of Directors? Is that person you? Board service is a great leadership opportunity and a chance to make an impact on our chapter. We are seeking CREW DC members who have a broad understanding of the chapter, are passionate about delivering value to our members and sponsors, can put the chapter’s interests first, and can commit the necessary time to board service.

Nominations are now open until May 15 for the following positions:

  • President-Elect: A three-year commitment as President-Elect (2027), President (2028), and Past President (2029)

  • Treasurer: A two-year commitment

  • Directors (3): A two-year commitment

NOMINATIONS CLOSE MAY 15, 2026

The following current Board members will continue their service in 2027, graduating to the next presidential position and/or continuing their term as officer/director:

  • Mariela Buendia-Corrochano (Director)

  • Maura O’Kelly (Director)

Nomination Guidelines

  1. Board Service is limited to CREW DC Members only. Only 2026 CREW DC Members may make nominations. Self-nominations are encouraged. Multiple nominations may be submitted on each nomination form. Multiple individuals may be nominated for any position. 

  2. Members nominated will be considered by the committee for any open position(s) they are willing to serve; nominators need not specify which position they are being nominated for, except for President-Elect and Treasurer, which have additional nomination criteria and questions.

  3. The Executive Director will contact nominees to confirm which, if any, positions the member is willing to consider and to review the application requirements and process.

  4. There is no limit to the number of nominations any one member may submit. However, multiple nominations for a single person will not affect their chances.

  5. The 2027 board application package, including the submission form and criteria, and 2027 Board responsibilities, will be made available on or about April 30, 2026.

  6. The self-nomination or nomination of a CREW DC member closes on May 15, 2026.

Chaired by the Immediate Past President, a Nominating Committee reviews the qualifications of each nominee and prepares a slate containing one name for each position to be elected. The slate is presented to Membership for a vote in August.

Members making nominations do not have to verify the willingness of the individual to serve. After staff confirms the willingness of the individual to apply and serve, an application will be due no later than May 29, 2026.

Nominations close on May 15, 2026.

We encourage Members to nominate NOW so that nominees will have ample time to submit the application on or before the deadline.

Timeline:

  • Nominations Accepted: April 7 through May 15

  • Applicant Questionnaires Open: April 30

  • Applicant Questionnaires Due: May 29

  • PE Candidate Interview: End of June or Early July

  • Nominating Committee notifies nominees of outcomes: Late July

  • Finalized slate presented to membership for vote: Week of August 3
