Volunteer Position Available: Affinity Group Leader

Position Title: Affinity Group Leader for African American and Asian American CREW Community

Reports to: DEI Council Chairs
Location: Washington, DC
Term Length: 1 year (renewable)
Time Commitment: Approximately 4-6 hours per month

Position Overview:

CREW is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic member volunteer to serve as the Affinity Group Leader for one of our identity- or interest-based communities. This individual will play a key role in fostering connection, advancing professional development, and creating a safe and empowering space for members within the designated affinity group. The Affinity Group Leader will work in collaboration with the DEI Council Chairs to support CREW's mission of advancing women in commercial real estate.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and Facilitate: Organize and lead regular meetings or virtual gatherings (monthly or quarterly) to engage members of the affinity group.

  • Build Community: Foster an inclusive and supportive environment that encourages participation, relationship-building, and shared experiences.

  • Coordinate Events: Plan and coordinate programming (e.g., networking sessions, guest speakers, panel discussions) aligned with the interests of the group.

  • Liaise with Chapter Leadership: Serve as the primary contact between the affinity group and DEI Council Chairs, providing updates and feedback.

  • Promote Engagement: Encourage member involvement through communication, outreach, and promotion of group initiatives.

  • Support DEI Goals: Collaborate with the DEI Council to ensure programming aligns with broader organizational diversity, equity, and inclusion objectives.

  • Track Participation: Maintain attendance records and gather member feedback to help assess impact and suggest improvements.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Active member of CREW

  • Passion for fostering inclusivity, connection, and professional growth

  • Strong communication and organizational skills

  • Experience leading groups or coordinating events is a plus

  • Commitment to CREW's mission and values
