Empowering Women in Commercial Real Estate

Success in today’s commercial real estate environment demands innovation and strategic thinking, balanced with action born from experience and hard work. We recognize that it takes skill to navigate a successful career in commercial real estate, a fastmoving, dynamic industry—but it also takes a team of mentors, sponsors and advisors.

CREW DC’s mentorship program is one way we strive to fulfill our mission to advance, educate, and support our members to influence the commercial real estate industry. The connections between individuals in different phases of their careers emphasize and enforce the importance of being a lifelong learner and encourage the sharing of knowledge between both mentor and mentee.

Mentorship is recognized as a critical element to help women prepare for and attain upper-level career positions. According to a CREW Network study, women who were supported by a mentor increased their chances of securing a mid- or top-level management position by 56% vs. those without a mentor.

Some of the goals of this program are:

  • Improve parity and diversity in the CRE industry

  • Build a talent pipeline for future professionals in commercial real estate

  • Provide constructive feedback to support growth and success

  • Increase leadership and career development skills of CREW DC leaders and members

  • Build confidence and skills resulting in lifelong connections.

2024-2025 Program Timeline

  • Mentee/Mentor In-Person Meet & Greet – October 17, 2024

  • Mentorship Program Officially Opens – October 18, 2024

  • Monthly Meetings – November 1, 2024 – May 30, 2025
